Assistant Director of Events - Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort (Finance)
The award-winning AAA 5-Diamond Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort & Club is seeking anAssistant Director of Eventsto join the Events Team!
Located in the beautiful coastal town of Dana Point adjacent to Laguna Beach, this town played an iconic role in the emergence of California's surf culture and today is celebrated for its laid-back vibe and fun, active lifestyle.
The resort is perched on 175 acres atop a 150-foot seaside bluff with over 400 rooms, 115,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space, and 8 food and Beverage outlets. This includes 4 restaurants, a beach club, lounge, marketplace, and IRD.
In this role, you will primarily manage larger, complex events and assist the team with other events as needed. You will also be responsible for payroll and participate in forecasting and special projects as requested by the director.
The ideal candidate should have previous hotel event management leadership experience. Knowledge of luxury and Hilton systems would be highly beneficial.

What will I be doing?
As Assistant Director of Events you will be directly responsible for event documentation and coordination with Sales, other hotel departments and customers to ensure consistent, high-level service throughout the pre-event, event, and post event phases of all hotel events. This position primarily handles complex events. The ADOE recognizes opportunities to maximize revenue by upselling and offering enhancements to create outstanding events. You will be contributing to the achievement of superior business results in the areas of ensuring outstanding guest service, team member engagement, favorable financial outcomes, strategic leadership and talent development, culture, innovation, and event operations. This position supports and acts on behalf of the Director of Catering and Events.
Specifically, your essential functions will be to perform the following tasks to the highest standards:
STRATEGY:
• Minimum Years of Experience: Eight (8) years Event Management related experience.
• Minimum of 3-5 year of leadership experience.
• Other requirements: Travel percentage: 10%
It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:
• Knowledge of the hotel property management systems (Delphi.fdc)
• Relevant degree, in business development or other relevant business field, from an academic institution (CMP, CPCE)
