As our Senior Commodity Paper Manager, you will:
Works with paper broker to support responses to client RFPs, work with Lakeside's sales team to promote paper services.
Work with business units to determine why a supplier is needed; volume, budget, duration, skills, services, market knowledge, certifications, alternative options.
Demonstrate an understanding of the supply base as it maps to Lakeside's global demand over the next 3+ years,
Identify gaps in Lakeside's direction vs. industry. Provide recommendations to address gaps. Include contingency plans & risk analysis,
Identify potential suppliers; industry intelligence, existing suppliers, recommended suppliers, specialty certifications, requests from suppliers on file.
Screen and Select Suppliers; Conditions of use; one-time or repetitive, geographic, capability, capacity, or back-up. Certifications; diversity, associations, regulated products and materials. Financial stability, market position, growth potential, etc.
Work with suppliers and paper broker to obtain lowest total cost solutions that meet the Business Segments' requirements, including price, pay terms, services, and ongoing productivity improvements
In accordance with corporate guidelines, establish contracts that include pricing, NDA, service commitments, terms & conditions, and other necessary elements to mitigate risk and to document the agreement. Manage contract and relationship with paper broker
Management approvals, communicate supplier information to Business Segments, classify suppliers in various systems, documentation collection and filing (W9, certifications, remit to information), transaction setup (SAP / PO, invoicing), supplier training to function in Lakeside's systems.
Evaluate supplier's performance; spend (compliance to classification and agreement), expectations (Quality, delivery, service, cost savings, pricing, productivity, innovation), Compliance (regulated products & materials, certifications). Provide updates to contacts, remits, COI, contract renewals. Reporting (regulatory, spend review, adherence to agreement).
Work closely with Sales and Pricing organizations to recommend customer paper pricing and sales strategy
Help maintain internal systems and data involving paper cost and pricing
Qualifications:
College degree in discipline related to functional work, or demonstrated ability to meet the job requirements through a comparable number of years of applicable work experience.
10+ years of experience in supply chain with relevant work experience in all types of printing paper products, and other print related materials.
Ability to act as an advocate for Lakeside's requirements with suppliers
Excellent communication skills with ability to respond to sensitive supplier issues with professionalism
High proficiency in computer skills, especially procurement systems and aptitude to learn additional systems
Good analytical and computational skills for price evaluations and spend analysis
Negotiating, contracting, and supply chain skills are critical
Certifications highly preferred: CPM or CPSM through ISM
