Program Director III- (Startups) (Finance)
1. Administers a complex center or multiple departments.
2. Manages budget and engages in strategic planning to ensure all goals are met.
3. Hires and directs the activities of staff.
4. Resolves personnel issues as they arise.
5. Engages in budget-planning, grant oversight, and policy development.
6. Implements new programs and projects and monitors ongoing activities of department or center.
7. Reviews department policies and processes and implements improvements as needed.
8. Represents department or center to internal and external constituents.
9. Performs other job-related duties as required.
MQ: Education: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Experience: Requires a minimum of seven (7) years of directly job-related experience. Certification/Licensing: None.

• Conduct research to identify and engage entrepreneurs for UH Technology Bridge (UHTB) events and programs.
• Support Innov8 Hub programs, including planning, scheduling, recruitment, data analysis, cohort engagement, and coaching entrepreneurial acceleration programs.
• Develop networking programs and identify key participants from the startup ecosystem.
• Coordinate OTTI team members to execute high-quality startup development events.
• Serve as the first point of contact for UHTB startup members, addressing community needs.
• Assist with recruitment, evaluation, and onboarding of new members.
• Plan and execute community and external events in collaboration with UHTB teams.
• Work with UH marketing and communications to ensure effective messaging and event promotion.
• Create marketing content (prose, photos, videos) for social media, website, and newsletters.
• Manage the mentor network and support alumni engagement programs.
• Assist in developing and managing Angel Investment and other UH investment funds.
• Build an investment ecosystem by recruiting alumni investors and ecosystem leaders.
• Identify UH technologies and inventors for potential startup opportunities.
• Coordinate with UH startup programs, including Wolff Center for Entrepreneurship and Red Labs.
• Set goals for the startup portfolio in alignment with OTTI strategy.
• Manage interns and student workers supporting UHTB media, alumni programs, and communications.
• Perform other related duties as needed.
