Summary of Responsibilities:
Welcome patients by greeting them warmly. Verify patient information review and/or record medical history.Monitor and chart vital signs. Prepare patients for the health care visit by directing and/or accompanying them to the examining room; providing examination gowns and drapes; helping them to position themselves for the examination and/or treatment. Arrange instruments, supplies, and equipment and assist the physician during the procedure with equipment, supplies. Collect and prepare laboratory specimens and perform basic laboratory tests on-premises, including hemoglobin and Rh Factor testing. Draw blood, dispose of contaminated supplies, sterilize medical instruments. Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations. Prepare patients for ultrasounds, exams, tests, and procedures. Perform ultrasounds, patient education, and lab services as requested. Prepare patients for and assist physician providers with abortion procedures. Able to prepare, identify, and properly dispose of POC.Perform and interpret in-house laboratory tests necessary for appropriate intake of abortion patients, including hemoglobin and Rh Factor testing. Process medical instruments per AWC guidelines. Assist the medical team with compassion and professionalism.

Requirements:
Must support abortion access.High school diploma or equivalent. Medical Assistant Diploma.Excellent communication skills. Enjoy working as part of a team. Trained for a fast-paced medical care office. Demonstrated ability to be flexible. Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.Detail-oriented and able to perform repetitive tasks without error.Ultrasound experience is a plus. New grads welcome.Must be fluent in English and Spanish.
