The Maintenance Technician inspects, repairs, maintains, and assembles all equipment within the Production Facility. This includes Hydraulic Forge Presses, Natural Gas and Electric powered Furnaces, Product Conditioning Equipment, Overhead Cranes, Mobile Equipment, CNC Machines (Horizontal and Vertical Lathes), and Water Jets.
Essential Functions:
This is a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities and is not all inclusive. Incumbent(s) may and may be required to perform additional, position-specific tasks.
Maintain Equipment through the execution of the Preventative Maintenance (PM) program.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues causing equipment failures.
Prepare and maintain records detailing inspections, observations, and repairs on all equipment.
Consult equipment manuals, schematics, hydraulic diagrams, and engineering personnel in order to efficiently troubleshoot and solve equipment problems.
Demonstrate a general understanding of Mechanical, Hydraulic, and Electrical system principles.
Ability to operate heavy machinery such as Forklifts, Extended Boom Lifts, Scissors Lifts, and Production Equipment.
Troubleshoot/Repair facility and equipment pneumatic systems.
Rebuild/Replace Hydraulic pumps, cylinders, valves, accumulators, and hoses.
Remove, Repair, and Install up to 40" hydraulic pipe.
Fabricate simple equipment designs to support Operations and repair equipment.
Electrical troubleshooting up to 480V.
Replace electrical motors, motor contactors, fuses, breakers.
Troubleshoot large hydraulic and mechanical systems to find and repair hydraulic leaks.
Ability to work at heights to service overhead cranes.
Comfortable working in dirty environments to support the hydraulic forge presses.
Ability to complete general Production Facility duties such as clearing debris, installing product racking, and other 5S initiatives.
Ability to work a rotating shift (Days/Nights) that supports a 24/7 operation.
Maintains a safe and organized workstation and follows all company policy, safety and procedures.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Hydraulic Systems - Knowledge of how hydraulic pumps, cylinders, valves, and accessory equipment works to generate desired equipment movement.
Mechanical Systems - Knowledge of general mechanical systems and how to troubleshoot those systems.
Electrical Systems - Knowledge of general electrical systems and how to troubleshoot those systems.
Equipment Preventative Maintenance - Monitoring gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
Troubleshooting - Demonstrate an ability to determine why equipment failed and make the necessary repairs to return equipment to Operations.
Communication - Ability to effectively and comfortably communicate technical information to others inside and outside of the Maintenance Department.
Production and Processing - General knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
Quality Control Analysis - Conducting tests and inspections of equipment, products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
Reading Comprehension - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
Basic functions of Microsoft Office Suite.
