Radiologic Technologist (Healthcare)
Essential Job Functions/Accountabilities
Produces high quality diagnostic images with minimal patient exposure. Following ALARA standards.
Ensures that safety devices such as shielding, lead aprons, and gloves are utilized properly during procedures. Maintains proper operation of radiology equipment. Maintains radiology patient records.
Reviews Radiology requisition and physician order to ensure proper procedure is performed. Identifies patient and test for accuracy. Processes Radiology imaging requests. Handles infectious waste, linens and surfaces in an appropriate manner.
Answers patients general questions. Answers telephone calls. Provides back-up coverage and assists in daily/nightly office routine when needed in other areas.
Orders radiology supplies, if applicable. Assessment of equipment errors, contacts appropriate Vendor for service and maintains proper equipment logs.
All other duties not specifically assigned.
Position Requirements
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
Experience: Three (3) to Five (5) years of demonstrated experience in field or profession preferred. If applicable, successful completion of training to perform other radiology modalities (e.g., select C.T. procedures, etc.).
Technical Skills: Knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology, Medical Terminology, and sterile techniques.
Certifications/Licenses/Registrations: Registered technologist through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Licensed in the State of Ohio. BLS required.
