Producer (Finance)
The engagement producer and reporter for WUSF's flagship public affairs program and podcast is an organized, self-starting journalist inspired to connect with and telling the stories of people who live in the greater Tampa Bay region. This producer and reporter relishes writing and helping put together the pieces of an audio and YouTube show. Engaging with people and listening is a core responsibility. They will help identify topics, book guests and create stories -digital, social media and broadcast that involve people in rural, suburban and urban communities. This person loves journalism created on multiple platforms - like call-in shows and social media videos, pre-produced audio segments and digital Q&As.This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications or related field and two years of directly related experience; or a Master's degree in the fields listed above. Four years of vocational/technical training and experience may substitute for the Bachelor's degree requirement.
FLSB1310 Equivalency:
4 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree.

They plan, research and help put together the pieces of a daily audio show and podcast, in conjunction with the Executive Producer, Host and other newsroom staff. This includes identifying, booking and pre-interviewing guests.

They actively report within the community and engage with people whose concerns and interest can become topics or segments within the show/podcast. This can include breaking news.

They will create journalism to be used on multiple platforms - such as call-in shows, social media videos, pre-produced audio segments and digital Q&As. This job requires work in the WUSF Tampa studios during live shows.
