RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Check the Route Sheet (QD222), and verify the part count and that all previous operations have been completed Check that the job packet contains all information necessary to schedule, prepare and process the parts to produce the specified properties Check parts for damage and identify non-conforming product Perform and/or monitor the following:
Temperature - generator, washer, furnace, quench ant, and cooling system Atmosphere - composition from generator and in furnace Concentration of wash Carbon content of shim samples Etched case depth of slug samples Induction machine operating parameter
Use/operate shot blaster, abrasive cut off saw, straightening press, acetylene torch, center lapper, hardness testers, hardness test preparation equipment Report recording of processing data in the appropriate logs, on process sheets and on inspection reports Sign off and initial the Route Sheet when the parts are ready to leave the department Follow the bar-coding procedures in SOP499 Check in work entering the Heat Treat Department Generate necessary paperwork and prepare fixtures, processes and inspects the parts Perform and/or monitors the analysis of variables and makes adjustments necessary to ensure that the equipment is operating properly Take notes, record, report and file processing data in appropriate logs, on process sheets and on inspection reports Perform routine and preventative maintenance activities All other duties as assigned
