Media Manager, Scripps Sports - remote (Biotech)
Scripps Sports is seeking a Media Manager. The Media Manager at Scripps Sports plays a pivotal role in the effective management and dissemination of media content across the NWSL, WNBA, and NHL. This position requires a dedicated professional with a strong background in content creation, video editing, and strategic communication. The Media Manager will be instrumental in ensuring high-quality content is produced and delivered in a timely manner. This is a remote position.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Download, label, and systematically organize game media for each match, uploading content to local storage and Frame.io.
Review each game to identify, catalog, and archive highlights such as goals, saves, and injuries, preserving the narrative of the game.
Use video editing system to compile and edit engaging player highlight reels (Player Melts) featuring key performances like goals, assists, and critical plays.
Build and maintain thorough team highlight packages (Team Melts) to showcase significant plays, goals, and unique aspects of each game, enhancing the fan experience.
Act as the primary day to day liaison between the production team and league/club representatives, maintaining effective communication to facilitate media collaboration.
Research and identify unique videos on social media and other platforms to enhance production quality and storytelling.
Manage and fulfill video requests from managers, producers, and editors, ensuring all necessary permissions for external video and photo use are obtained.
Work closely with team Media Managers to gather player footage, maintaining a cohesive media library.
Request, download, and organize archival video from previous seasons to support ongoing projects and enrich internal video libraries.
Create and edit additional highlight reels as directed by managers and producers, contributing to studio shows and sponsorship initiatives.
Export requested player highlights and media assets for editors, producers, and managers, ensuring timely and professional delivery.
Fulfill weekly video requests for studio show highlights, including game melts, complete game records, player highlights, and archival footage.
At the end of each season, export and archive all highlight packages, maintaining optimal file storage for future access.
Review and log weekly sponsorship activities related to specific team / league games ensuring all are documented for internal analysis.
Verify and confirm studio shows and broadcasts for sponsorship compliance, maintaining high oversight standards.
Maintain and edit highlight clips for sponsors using Adobe Premiere, ensuring quality standards are met.
Export and upload sponsor highlights for proof of execution, communicating with the sales team regarding any missing sponsorships.
Archive all sponsorship-related video clips, ensuring they are accessible for future reference and compliance checks.
Participate in weekly production planning meetings to align objectives and timelines with the production team.
Communicate proactively about any delays in media delivery, addressing issues to maintain workflow efficiency.
Ensure all video content meets technical standards for optimal playback and editing quality.
Provide support to managers, producers, and editors regarding media inquiries, handling video and photo requests with professionalism.
Other tasks as requested.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
BS/BA in related discipline preferred or equivalent years of experience
Generally, 3+ years of experience in related field preferred
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
Proven experience in content creation, video editing, and media management
Proficiency in Adobe Premiere and other video editing software
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
Creative thinker with a passion for storytelling and sports
Competent analytical skills for effective media and sponsorship management
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
