ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
The Department of Medical Education (DME) in the Morsani College of Medicine (MCOM) is headed by Dr. Bryan Bognar, Chair & Vice Dean for Educational Affairs. Dr. Bognar is responsible for the oversight of the Undergraduate Medical Education (UME) program and Graduate programs curriculum, all MCOM student services (Student Affairs, Admissions, Student & Community Engagement Office, the Experiential Learning Center), the School of Physical Therapy, the Athletic Training Education Program, and the Physician Assistant program. The Chair/Vice Dean also works collaboratively with Graduate Medical Education (GME), Continuing Professional Development, and the Deans for the College of Pharmacy, College of Nursing and College of Public Health to advance the education mission across the MCOM and USF Health. DME (including the MCOM student services) currently consists of 10 faculty members and ~ 50 administrators / staff members. The primary clients for DME are the medical students, DPT students, PA students, the doctoral, post-doc / masters students, and the faculty / staff educators for the medical and graduate program curriculum. The department interacts with faculty, staff, administrators, students, and healthcare providers across USF Health, USF, and other institutions.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Data Management Analyst ensures the accuracy, security, and comprehensive reporting of data for the Morsani College of Medicine. This role involves regular collaboration with the Director for Assessment and Evaluation, the Assistant Director for Evaluation, and the Senior Business Analyst. Key responsibilities include analyzing data to uncover trends and inconsistencies, creating, maintaining, and updating databases to ensure data accuracy and integrity, and generating reports by collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data. The analyst also develops and advocates for data quality methods and best practices, works with cross-functional teams to support business processes, system solutions, and strategic projects, and maintains extensive knowledge of university, college, and department policies and procedures related to evaluation and accreditation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Acts as the primary contact for support of the one45 evaluation system, managing support emails, reviewing and escalating system notifications, executing necessary system tasks, and pulling scheduled standardized reports required for curricular review.
Maintains existing spreadsheets and institutional databases across various system applications, including one45, Excel, and Power BI. Prepares and compiles reports for stakeholders, utilizing appropriate charts and tables to effectively display findings. Recommends reporting improvements and collaborates on projects with the Senior Business Analyst and IT.
Works with the Senior Business Analyst to serve as a back up for the Educational Value Unit (EVU) data collection system. Assists in interpreting complex data for education related activities to support faculty, staff, and administration in institutional and curricular improvement and to create transparency in budgeting support to clinical departments. Navigates Excel spreadsheets that utilize advanced formulas and function features.
Administers student exams as a chief proctor. Maintains and updates confidential files and records to ensure guidelines are maintained during student exams.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: MINIMUM:
This position requires a Bachelors degree in information technology or a related field, with two years of experience in related positions; or a Masters degree in a directly related field.
PREFERRED:
Bachelors degree in Business Analytics & Information Systems or a related field, with two years of experience in related positions; or a Masters degree in a directly related field.
