Water/Wastewater Engineer (Finance)

Role Description
Arcadis is seeking Water/Wastewater Engineers to join our Resilience Water Team in either our Hoffman Estates or Chicago, IL office. In this role, you will collaborate closely with experienced water professionals to drive the development of water and wastewater projects, engage directly with clients, and grow your technical expertise. Role Accountabilities
As a Water/Wastewater Engineer, your responsibilities will include evaluating, planning, designing, and managing projects related to water and wastewater conveyance, including pipelines and pumping facilities. You will provide engineering support during construction, assisting with tasks such as construction observation, reviewing shop drawings, responding to requests for information (RFIs), and helping with permit closeouts. Additionally, you will contribute to sustainability and resilience projects, including vulnerability assessments, mitigation planning, and design for utilities, municipalities, and cities.
Your role will also involve preparing reports, presentations, and other visual materials, as well as participating in client meetings. You will support field data collection for permit compliance and provide staff support for local clients. Maintaining project compliance with Arcadis' practices and quality, health, and safety standards is essential, as is ensuring the timely and on-budget completion of all projects.
At Arcadis, we encourage the use of digital tools to improve customer experience, team collaboration, and project delivery. You will have the opportunity to work with technologies such as SharePoint, Building Information Modeling (BIM), Power BI, and Augmented Reality to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our projects. Travel may be required for site visits, client meetings, safety audits, or to oversee construction activities, depending on project needs.
Required Qualifications
To be considered for this position, you must have a Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A minimum of three years of relevant experience in design or consulting engineering, or in a municipal work environment, is required. You must also hold an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
Key Skills and Attributes
Strong communication and writing skills are essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering, experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D, hydraulic modeling software, GIS, and familiarity with database management and data analysis.

Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part time positions. We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $76,110 - $114,165. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
