Technician I - Facilities & Maintenance - Northfield, VT - 1st Shift (Maintenance)

Job Summary:

Maintaining, monitoring, and repairing facility, systems and equipment to ensure their reliable and safe operation. Ensuring custodial tasks of the physical buildings are achieved by maintaining a clean, safe and operational facilities.  Executing work orders and duties in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with current Good Manufacturing Practices and adherence to company policies.

Responsibilities:

• Fields maintenance requests from company employees including, but not limited to installing locks on buildings; replacing light bulbs; fixing windows; repairing broken sinks, toilets, and other plumbing equipment; repairing or replacing office furniture, moving/relocating shelving.
• Manages groundskeeping duties, such as snow shoveling, sanding/saltin in winter and leaf raking in fall.
• Troubleshoots mechanical issues: inspecting and repairing electrical equipment; inspecing heating and cooling systems performing basic HVAC repairs; repairing locks and security systems
• Performs miscellaneous custodial work as needed including, but not limited to Clean, dust, vacuum and/or mop floors of offices, breakrooms, hallways, conference rooms, common areas and rest rooms. Supporting a clean facility in compliance of Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Removal of recycling, waste from our process for recycling and removal of trash in all three buildings.
• Keeps logs of all maintenance work and orders supplies when necessary.
• Collaborates with other company employees to determine the best course of action for required tasks following all develoed cleaning and preventative maintenance schedules.
• Assist with Office Unlocking, Lock Up, and Security.
• Carpentry ability to handle basic repairs, paint walls and exteriors of buildings. Filling gaps on walls as needed.
• Attention to detail to ensure that all jobs are completed in an exemplary manner and any potential hazards or warning signs of problems are well communicated and not overlooked

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience in maintenance field or mechanical repair work.
• A minimum of two years in one or more of the following trade areas: Building Trades, Plumbing, Pipefitting, Electrical Systems, Mechanical, Welding, and HVAC
• Operate complex power tools and fabrication equipment including complex testing equipment, reading blueprints and schematics diagrams, and selecting proper material required for specific jobs or replacement part for equipment.
• Preferred Knowledge of regulatory codes sufficient to ensure compliance with industry and company standards.
• The ideal candidate will have experience and solid technical knowledge. You must also possess manual dexterity and physical stamina to handle full shift of being active and working on the facility.
• Have a valid driver's license.

Working Conditions:

• Manufacturing environment – exposure to machinery, noise and other adverse conditions for limted periods of time depending on the role.
• Flexible nature to manage competing and changing priorities.
• Travel locally to all of the organization's sites and locations.
• Work may be conducted either inside or outside according to maintenance requests.
• Temperatures will be variable according to season and specific work site.
• Tasks may involve moderate to heavy physical labor.
• Possesses familiarity with the function and makeup of HVAC systems.
• Demonstrates ability to operate mechanical and landscaping equipment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Able to shovel snow and the ability to lift at least 75 LBS. on an occasional basis, 50 LbS. on a consistent basis.
• Walking, climbing, standing, sitting, and lifting are required for the duration of the shift.
• Able to get dirty as it will happen =- )

Starting at $19 per hour.
