JOB OVERVIEW
As a documentary journalism series, visual journalism is at the heart of who we are and what we do. The Senior Digital Producer, Showrunner- Short Docs will contribute to FRONTLINE's digital video strategy, in collaboration with the Executive Producer/Editor-in-Chief, to produce rigorously researched visual journalism that is well told, engaging and impactful. Specifically, FRONTLINE is looking for an innovative and talented video journalist to help the Editor-in-Chief lead the newsroom in its efforts to build its short docs YouTube channel and other short form video work.
The Senior Digital Producer, Showrunner- Short Docs will be responsible for pitching, producing, and distributing videos primarily for YouTube but also for other platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and other channels. The goal for this person is to strategize and execute the creation and delivery of content for these channels, collaborating with and leading others in our newsroom as well as potentially commissioning work from outside. This keen storyteller must have sound editorial judgement, be good at crafting compelling content and possess a deep understanding of online platforms and their backend systems.
In addition, the Senior Digital Producer, Showrunner- Short Docs manages members of the video team ensuring the execution of strong journalism and workflows that best support the series' presence on digital platforms.
