Truck Driver - Semi (Finance)



POSITION SUMMARY

Matthews International is seeking an OTR Driver to join our Distribution Team in Aurora, Indiana for our memorialization business segment. The ideal candidate will have over the road commercial driving experience.

The OTR Truck Driver will be responsible for the delivery of caskets to our customers, Distribution Hubs, and vendors regionally as well as over long distances in various states. Most of the driving will be to our Distribution HUBs in Dallas, Indianapolis, Atlanta and Harrisburg, PA.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You will be driving company funeral and memorialization products both regionally and across country.
  • You will be responsible for loading and unloading product.
  • You will be handling both pre and post trip inspections of vehicles.
  • You will be interacting with customers, externally and internal employees on a daily basis.
  • You will be responsible to comply with Federal Motor Carrier rules and regulation.

Additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

  • 2+ years of previous driving experience of a Class A vehicle.
  • Commercial Driver's License, CDL A license.
  • Current DOT medical card or ability to obtain one.
  • Routine travel either locally, and / or nationally may be required.
  • Completion of a training course at an accredited truck driving school preferred.
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary.

PHYSICAL ASPECTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • • Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; and talk, hear and see.
    • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
    • Often exposed to contaminants, such as diesel fuel or exhaust.
    • Occasionally exposed to whole body vibration when driving a truck.
    • Sometimes exposed to sounds or noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable.
