Rotational Development Program - Production Engineer (Finance)

Position Summary

Fairbanks Morse is looking for a Rotational Engineer to join our team. This engineer will perform the following 3 rotations, Casting excellence engineer, Aftermarket engineer, Quality engineer. Each rotation will be 8-months long per term, each term will report to that area's functional supervisor/ manager.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

• Casting excellence engineer
  • Reduce NCRs and repeat casting issues through root cause analysis and correction.
  • Work with suppliers to ensure conforming product is shipped to FMD.
  • Review gating and foundry processes to ensure FMD's foundry produces the highest quality of castings.
• Aftermarket Engineer
  • Update drawings and create models for engineering requests.
  • Work with field services to correct customer issues and prevent reoccurrence.
  • Create solutions to legacy engine lines obsoleted parts.
• Quality engineer
  • Review NCRs daily.
  • Work with suppliers for Corrective actions.
  • Review issues on the production floor and prevent reoccurrence.
  • Complete engine birth records and work with 3 rd party surveyors to ensure compliance is met and documented.
• Any other duties deemed necessary.

Qualifications, Skills and Educational Requirements

• Education/Experience- BS in Engineering or Engineering Tech
• Up to 50% - Travel mostly domestic day trips, possibly an overnight trip as required could include: supplier visits, training, or customer site visits. (for quality and Casting excellence engineer)
• CAD experience required- SolidWorks preferred.
• Machining/ foundry/ forge/ welding experience preferred.
• position requires access or potential access to Unclassified Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information, which is Not Releasable to Foreign Nationals (NOFORN) data. Therefore, to meet NOFORN requirement, you will have to provide proof of US Citizenship and attest that you do not have dual citizenship. Acceptable proof of US Citizenship is a US Passport, US Birth Certificate or Naturalization Certificate.
• Regulations (EAR). Acceptable proof of this status includes a US Passport, Permanent Resident Card, US birth Certificate or Naturalization Certificate. Maintenance, including renewal, of licensing authorization is a condition of employment. Government authorization may be a suitable alternative after review on a case-by-case basis.
