Marine Equipment Operator (Engineering)
The Equipment Operator is responsible for the movement of all vessels located in the facility for haul & launch, designated work, storage or sales. This position is also required to inspect, repair, and maintain all assigned equipment. The Equipment Operators title may be specific to their trade and titled as such (Equipment Operator (Service), Equipment Operator (Storage), Equipment Operator (Marina) etc.)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operate heavy equipment including marine tractorProvide SHM members with the best experience possibleGreet all customers in a manner that expresses a kind, courteous and professional characterHelp orient members and guests to the marina, facilities, and answer other commonly asked questionsAssist customers with general boating needsMaintain and clean restrooms, docks, walkways, grounds and other areas designated by managementEnsure docks and equipment are operational at all timesComply with OSHA regulations, environmental regulations, and adhere to all site rules and expectations
Be able to operate machinery efficiently, effectively and demonstrate safe handling of vesselsUse equipment to move vessels in and out of water, to designated work space, storage or sales areasInspect, maintain and repair equipment to ensure operationalAssist with ground maintenance and ensuring overall marina cleanlinessAvailable to work overtime when requiredOther duties as assigned by Manager

Follow SHM Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related training.Wear proper personal protective equipment (may include safety glasses, gloves, life jackets and/or hard hats) as required for the task or work area. Report all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately.
Technical and Physical Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required2-3 years relevant experience preferredAbility to drive tractorHeavy forklift experience and certification requiredAbility to ascend and descend a ladderAbility to work in all weather conditionsAbility to work in confined spacesAbility to lift 50 poundsBasic boat handling skills preferredMust possess a valid drivers license
