Sr Manager, Utilities GIS Ops (Finance)
The Sr Manager of Utilities GIS Operations role is to coordinate, implement, and manage the organization's long-term strategies and initiatives for Utility focused GIS working groups. This individual is responsible for ensuring the development, implementation, and maintenance of GIS software, platforms, and applications. The Sr Manager of Utilities GIS Operations will also preserve the integrity and design of geographic information databases.This position will also partner closely with City and Utilities IT Leadership, the Utilities Directors and Managers, the Data and Systems Architect, City Wide GIS Analysts, and the Utilities GIS teams to deliver cohesive GIS solutions that comply with the City of Fort Collins Data Governance/ Management policy. The Sr Manager of Utilities GIS Operations, GIS Utility Network will be responsible for managing large-scale GIS projects such as the forthcoming ArcGIS Utility Network migration. In addition, the Sr Manager of Utilities GIS Operations will be responsible for managing the Utilities GIS department budget and software licensing.The Sr Manager of Utilities GIS Operations will manage and direct a team of Geospatial Professionals whose purpose is to support a portfolio of five (5) Utility Service GIS functions being Broadband (Fort Collins Connexion), Electric Distribution (Fort Collins Light and Power), Water, Wastewater, and Stormwater (One Water) public water utility services. This includes providing exceptional leadership for this diverse team, creating strong team dynamics, managing performance and professional development. In addition, the Senior Manager, GIS Utility Network will be responsible for ensuring GIS team compliance with all IT and City process, data governance, procedures, guidelines, and policies. #INDHP

Manages the day-to-day operations of the Utilities GIS department that supports Broadband, Electric, Water, Wastewater, and Stormwater Utility Operations.Determines and assigns work projects, oversees, and reviews on-going projects, and plans GIS Program activities.Manages GIS vendor contracts and associated support services.Coordinates work activities of the Utilities GIS with the City GIS department to ensure standards are met and sustained.Serves as project manager for periodic large scale GIS projects.Assists utilities specific GIS Analysts with standardization and governance related to Map and figure layouts, application design, database design, and data management.Champions the use of organizational change management and collaborates with utilities change management specialists to assist in the adoption of new geospatial technology and solutions.Acts as a liaison between utilities-specific GIS users and the Information Technology department to address needs and dependencies, opportunities for collaboration and alignment with one another.Assists the Director of Grid Operations and Technology Engineering with capital and operations and maintenance budget planning for the GIS department.Accountable for department budget activity and oversight.Develops policies, procedures and standards relating to GIS system maintenance, operations, and services.Champions transformational change initiatives that are modernizing many aspects of the utility's operational processes.
