Shermco Industries is seeking a Project Manager- Operations

Overview:

Coordinate Execution of Customer Projects: Interacting with WMS Project Managers and supporting operations to meet on-time delivery goals and reducing cost of poor quality.

Tasks / Expectations:

• Design develop and oversee project schedule
• Interact with External Project Manager Staff and Operations staff to schedule work and coordinate assignments
• Coordinate project timelines with internal departments (Buyers, Mechanics, Machinists, Winders, Utilities and QA)
• Assist to set up tasks and sub tasks to ensure satisfactory realization of quoted project requirements as scheduled
• Organize, implement and maintain scheduling management system supporting identified projects and their plans
• Log project timelines and maintain database of status' and tasks
• Identify potential project schedule delays and facilitate intervention in a timely manner
• Analyze critical path and constraints to determine effect of changes to schedule and recommend work-around
• Conduct analysis to determine alternative courses of action or recovery on slipped schedules
• Evaluate project schedule progress and performance and identify developing problem areas
• Lead Daily Production Meetings
• Develop and maintain daily status reports to keep External Project Managers and Operations Managers informed on projects and their progress
• Support shop management with special projects
• Cost Tracking: Monitor and analyze project costs to pinpoint areas for improvement and optimize resource allocation.
• Continuous Learning: Remain informed about industry trends and company services by engaging in educational opportunities.
• Ownership: Take responsibility for achieving departmental and organizational objectives.
• Field Service support (as needed)

Qualifications

• Estimating experience
• A Bachelor's degree in engineering, or business related field from an accredited college or university preferred. Experience with the right behaviors and attitude will also be strongly considered.
• A minimum of five years in the equipment repairs industry (motors, generators or similar) considered a positive.

• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Microsoft Projects

• Ability to read and understand Mechanical and Electrical apparatus drawings

• Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal
