ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for the safety of participants in and around the ranch areaReports to work on time, dressed in appropriate attireAssist with hiring, training, supervision and evaluation of all part-time and seasonal ranch staff and volunteers.Assist with the maintenance of trails, fences and pastures.Responsible for properly tacking and grooming horses for trail rides and lessonsCleans and inspects tack for wear and tear. Replaces or repairs when necessaryTeaches horsemanship and mounted lessons using positive and safe techniques.Tracks student progress and communicates with parents/guardiansUse the CHA and Herd standards to help students grow and learn.Communicate with staff, volunteers, and parents in a positive and supportive demeanor.Helps maintain record keeping on Horse Health, Horse usage, Volunteer Hours, lesson student testing, and other records to create an organized, communicative program.Supervise volunteers, part-time and seasonal staffLead and or support birthday parties, special events, and trail ridesComplete all other jobs as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be at least 21 years of ageMust have at least 3-years prior horsemanship experience to include, teaching of lessons, riding horses, horse care, tacking, and handlingEquestrian related 2 or 4-year Degree preferredMust display an overall willingness to do what needs to be done with a positive attitude to provide the best experience possible for our campers, and guests.Must be able to use various computer software such as: Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office and PublisherMust be able to saddle, bridle, groom, and have knowledge of general care of horses.
