Neonatal NP Per Diem (Finance)
The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is based at Tampa General Hospital (TGH) in Tampa, FL. TGH is a 1,018-bed teaching hospital affiliated with the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine. It is a private not-for-profit hospital and one of the most comprehensive medical facilities in west central Florida, serving a dozen counties with a population of over 4 million. In addition to being a level one trauma center, it has a level 3 NICU. The 82-bed Jennifer Leigh Muma NICU is a designated Regional Perinatal Intensive Care Center designated by the State of Florida to deliver the highest level of medical care to premature and sick infants, and to women with high-risk pregnancies. USF/TGH Neonatology also participates in the Florida Perinatal Quality Collaborative, a statewide initiative to improve maternal and infant health outcomes in Florida.Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate field of specialization or equivalent qualifications based on professional experience and otherwise qualified to perform assigned duties. Master's Degree in Nursing: ARNP training; Florida License. BLS/AED certification is required and must be maintained. Grow Here .Clinical: Ongoing evaluation and management of neonates and infants requiring care in the neonatal intensive care unit, participation in multidisciplinary rounds, and coordination of care with ancillary staff and family.
Attendance at high-risk deliveries and immediate stabilization of critically ill neonates under the supervision of the attending Neonatologist.
Documentation of all orders, procedures, and progress notes on the patient's medical record.
Perform procedures necessary for the care of neonates and infants in the intensive care unit including - but not limited to - endotracheal intubation, umbilical line placement, PICC line placement, lumbar punctures, and peripheral arterial lines.
Teaching: Supervision of pediatric residents and participation in the teaching of pediatric residents, as well as NP, PA, and medical students.
Participation in Quality Assurance / Improvement. Other duties as assigned.
Responsible to a Chair or other appropriate higher-level administrator of a state university. Responsible for teaching, service, and related activities. May be responsible for research and/or academic advising and related activities. May represent the university, college/school, or department/unit on university and/or Statewide committees.
