Central Supply/Mailroom Clerk (Administrative)
Picks up University mail from the United States Post Office.
Sorts and delivers University mail by class and department.
Registers and delivers University checks to appropriate departments while maintaining daily check transmittal forms with the assistance of the Physical Plant Office Coordinator.
Tracks and logs all cash received and delivers to designated person(s) in each department.
Opens and sorts designated mail and distributes according to department procedures.
Creates monthly usage reports.
Maintains a cost effective inventory level of materials used by the Physical Plant department with the assistance of associated trades.
Insures the proper receipt, distribution and accounting of all packages and materials received and sent through central receiving by UPS, FedEx and all other delivery companies.
Maintains a master book of Material Safety Data Sheets of all chemicals kept on inventory.
Generates billing for all departments and individuals for packages shipped from the University by all forms of delivery.
Communicates with persons of various backgrounds professionally and in a courteous manner.
Attends departmental and/or university meetings.
Regular attendance and punctuality.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements
Required
High school diploma or GED and at least two years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Preferred
Associate's degree in business.
At least five years of experience related to inventory control.
Work Environment
Ability to work in a general office environment with some noise.
Physical Abilities
Occasionally move about the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, mail boxes, etc.
Frequently communicates with students, faculty, and staff who have inquiries about mail and packages. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
Operates a computer, copy machine and computer printer.
Must be able to traverse campus, including stairs, in order to deliver campus mail and packages.
Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and get in and out of the vehicle frequently during each shift.
Visual ability needed to view computer monitor, sort mail, perform check submittals, etc.
Must be able to lift, carry, push or pull materials up to 100lbs.
Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder.
