ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages sample retention and all other aspects of sample management . Monitors housekeeping and produces weekly audit reviews. Validates and manages all formulations and makes necessary adjustments based on recommendations from and nutritionist. Reconciles theoretical vs. actual usage on all ingredients, to identify out-of-tolerance situations and to aid in assuring accurate batching. Compile and understand reporting
Monitors FDA requirements. Reconciles FDA controlled drugs, and all other micro ingredients, and will perform reconciliation as required by FDA. Is responsible for sampling, obtaining assays and maintaining files, as prescribed by FDA.
Maintains several reports. Produces daily reports, which will provide the location with timely information to identify any out of tolerance situations, on those criteria. Obtains mixer profile, sends to lab, and reports. Tests product quality and size. Produces a monthly report summarizing aspects of quality.
Participates as a member of the Team . Participates in the ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies; coordinates work to ensure best practices with all team members. Attends appropriate team meetings. As a member of the Team, fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues; e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc. Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues and actively look for ways, and reinforce actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.
Simmons Operating systems principles and objectives: Is familiar with Simmons' established operating systems (e.g. quality, security, office environment, company policies, LEAN); understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position's role in support of these systems - including a consideration of the impact of individual actions on the systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.

Physical Activities: Enters and locates information on a computer. Must be able to lift 25 lbs. Must be able to work on feet for the entire shift. Must be able to climb ladders as needed. Must be able to work in a dusty environment.
Travel: NA
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Will use appropriate footwear, hearing protection and other protective equipment as needed or required.
Technical Experience: Must be able to read and write English. Perform basic math skills.
Industry Experience: Preference for poultry or food processing organization.
Minimum Education : Must have a good command of the English language, both written and spoken. Must have a valid driver's license.
Preferred Education : High School Diploma or GED.
