Mechanical Engineer Intern (Engineering)
Responsibilities
The Mechanical Engineer Intern will acquire knowledge and develop basic skills while performing routine technical work from the Engineering Team at Rotochopper.
Use engineering theory and experience to develop detailed design drawings and specifications for mechanical equipment, dies, tools, and controls, using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) equipment.Know and understand the project scope, specifications, and any regulatory requirements that are applicable to the machine being developed.Produce three-dimensional (3D) models, using computer-aided design (CAD) software.Design scale or full-size blueprints of specialty items such as body or chassis components.Review and analyze specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas, and related data to assess factors affecting component designs and the procedures and instructions to be followed.Create and maintain Bill of Materials (BOM) and engineering changes associated with projects and resolve job specification differences.
Prepare or present technical or project status reports.Research, design, evaluate, install, operate, or maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems, or processes to meet requirements.
Troubleshoot issues and concerns, partnering with other departments and leadership as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS
Actively pursuing a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field from a four-year university. Must be in 3rd or 4th year of program or working toward an equivalent engineering certification. Proficient with SolidWorks drawing software. Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to conceptualize and create mechanical designs. Excellent problem solving, technical, and customer service skills. Knowledge of electrical systems, hydraulics and fluid power is considered a plus.
