Summary:

Tetra Tech's Salt Lake City, UT office is currently seeking an on-call Environmental Scientist. Office assignments may include evaluating environmental data and preparing plan, reports, charts, and figures. Field activities may consist of performing due diligence and/or stormwater inspections, and environmental sample collection. Candidate must have excellent written communication skills and ability to travel out of state on occasion. This position may have a hybrid working opportunities, but the candidate must reside within 50 miles of the local SLC office.

Your Role:

• Perform office and field assignments for remediation and due diligence projects.
• Prepare site maps and figures.
• Perform work to complete projects on time and within budget and regulatory guidelines.
• Prepare tables, figures, and other work products to meet the needs of Tetra Tech's clients and project managers.
• Provide support to senior staff in preparing written reports summarizing project findings to State and Federal agencies.
• Complete projects to the agreed upon scope, schedule, budget, and with the high-level of quality for which Tetra Tech is known.
• Perform work in a safe manner and participate in the continual development of a safety culture in the company.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• BS degree in a science related field.
• 0 - 2 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe.
• Education and career interests should be related to environmental consulting.
• Candidates must have excellent technical abilities, communication skills, organizational skills, and technical writing skills.
• Candidate must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment weighing up to 40 lbs.
• Be open to learning new skills and adapting to new tools provided by Tetra Tech.
• Ability to travel in/out of state for field assignments (up to 50% of travel required).
• A Pre-employment drug screening in compliance with state regulations is required.
• Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
