Position Summary — The Bartender provides timely, accurate and friendly service while preparing the highest quality beverages for our guests, observe responsible serving practices.
Essential Functions — An individual in this role must be able to perform the following functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Checks patrons' ID to ensure that they meet the minimum age requirements for alcohol consumption.
Takes beverage orders from guests and servers.
Prepares and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks consistent with the bar's standard drink recipes.
Recognizes when a customer has had enough to drink.
Learns the names and personally recognizes regulars.
Accepts payment from guests, bar servers and cocktail staff; processes credit cards.
Washes and sterilizes glassware.
Prepares garnishes for drinks and replenishes snacks for bar patrons.
Maintains bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner.
Makes recommendations and answers questions regarding beverages.
Maintains cleanliness in all areas of the bar.
Receives and serves food orders to guests seated at the bar and tables located at the bar.
Reports all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to department manager.
Assists the restocking and replenishment of bar inventory and supplies.
Fills in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the department by assisting co-workers, supervisor or manager as requested.
Qualifications
High school diploma or G.E.D. or one to two (1-2) years bar experience. Cash handling experience required.
Customer service experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of beer, wine, liquor and common drink recipes.
Ability to work under pressure and to serve customers quickly and efficiently
Ability to multitask and work as part of the team.
Ability to communicate clearly' ability to read, comprehend and interpret written and oral instructions.
Ability to interact effectively with the public and team members.
Ability count back change accurately and efficiently.
Other Requirements — Required to obtain and maintain a Seneca Cayuga tribal gaming license and a state issued I.D. All applicants must successfully pass a preemployment drug screening prior to beginning employment. Must be at least 21 years of age per gaming regulations. Required to obtain and maintain ABLE licensing.
Physical Requirements — Position requires good memory and focus. Must be able to wear a Mask for long periods of time. Must have the ability to stand or walk for entire shifts. Must be able to carry beer, liquor, mixers and glassware weighing up to 60lbs.
Work Environment — Grand Lake Casino is a drug and alcohol-free workplace; Must be able to work in a casino environment which includes high levels of smoke, dust, noise, and bright flashing lights.
Special Working Conditions — This position requires the flexibility to work any shift, including weekends and holidays. Must be able to work under pressure.
