Plant Manager (Project Management)
Exercise direct supervision over production and manufacturing processes of the plant.
Establish a world class safety environment, including a behavioral based safety culture.
Help in the planning and establishing of plant budgets.
Ensure complete and on-time delivery to customers.
Responsible for the quality of processed cabinetry
Responsible for preventive maintenance action items performed daily at company standards.
Responsible for leading by example regarding attendance, PPE use, breaks, and to "Drive" compliance in all areas.
Maintain the facility and equipment in safe and functional condition.
Keep abreast of current developments in manufacturing methodologies and recommend improvements.
Track plant performance to operational metrics and objectives and take appropriate action to ensure attainment. These would include, among others, safety, productivity, cost, quality, and delivery.
Control manufacturing costs within budgetary limits and lead manufacturing cost savings initiatives.
Support all initiatives to maintain positive and effective employee relations.
Plan staffing needs to meet production requirements and to maintain work efficiency at the highest possible level along with monitoring and ensure fair and necessary assignment of overtime.
Maintain an adequate level of cross-training to ensure efficient and uninterrupted operations.
Lead continuous improvement efforts for area applying lean best practices to reduce waste.
Enforcing all departmental processes and driving the continual improvement of the processes.
Make this a best-in-class LEAN facility by deployment of appropriate LEAN tools.
Develop and implement growth plans by actively promoting the facility to current and new customers to garner additional and profitable business for Leedo.
Actively work with the Supply Chain organization and other stakeholders to deploy appropriate best practices at other warehouses.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must have a keen sense of urgency in accomplishing hourly goals.
Must have a basic ability for reading and writing in English language.
Innovative leader with the ability to identify opportunities and influence organizations to gain support and overcome resistance with data and persuasion.
Strong negotiation and communication skills with suppliers. Familiarity with the current supplier trends/markets
Champion for change is capable of role modeling via work ethic, focus and people skills.
The ability to effectively interact with all levels within the organization as well as suppliers, customers, and industry professionals in a professional and dignified manner.
An excellent coach and team leader who develops clear and concise stretch goals and can formulate and execute a plan.
Excellent problem resolution, mediation, and consultative skills
Must have a thorough understanding of manufacturing systems and processes.
You must be able to manage, communicate and develop subordinate employees.
Must have the ability to develop and execute a plan for daily production with little supervisory oversight.
Proficiency of various software programs including MS Word, MS Excel, and IE Explorer
Bilingual in Spanish and English is highly desirable but not required.
Must be able to perform basic math skills and the ability to read a measuring tape and caliper in metric dimensions.
Must have a keen sense of urgency in completing assigned daily duties and hourly goals.
Additional duties as deemed necessary.
Knowledge of wood manufacturing preferred.
Education and/or Experience:
College degree in related field or equivalent experience.
Must have at least 7 years extensive manufacturing plant leadership experience.
Knowledge of wood manufacturing preferred.
Physical Requirements and/or Working Conditions:
Factory environment to include, heavy lifting, and the use of personal protective equipment.
Enclosed but not air-conditioned or heated factory environment. Will include long hours of standing.
Must be able to physically perform daily tasks, including lifting large plywood sheets or parts weighing more than 50 lbs. or more.
