Background Check Specialist (Human Resources)
This is an in-office position for training and could become hybrid after a period of time.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Service and Processing
Serves as subject matter expert (SME) regarding The Orsus Groups processing policies, procedures, and technologyProcess and enter information regarding background screening reportsReview records and filter information reported to clientsAnalyze, quality check and adjudicate background screening reportsRespond to client, consumer and vendor inquiries via phone and email within established response timesCommunicate with clients and consumers regarding status of orders, missing information and disputesEscalates any consumer disputes to Compliance TeamUpdate and respond to emails using Outlook email (internally) and our email ticketing system (externally)Some communication with external vendors and courtsCommunicates to Team Lead if unable to achieve a timeline or to resolve an issueAssist with assigned client and office tasks and projectsPerform other duties as assigned

Promotes and maintains an engaging team atmosphere by acting and communicating in a professional, positive mannerBack up team members as needed to ensure all Background Check Specialists have support needed to operate effectively and efficientlyAttend and actively participate in staff and team meetings, offering ideas, insights and recommendations on topics that ultimately impact the overall quality of the organizationContinuing professional development of self to become the subject matter expert for assigned client accounts and industries
Position Requirements
Consistently demonstrate the ability to successfully move into problem-solving mode whenever challenges or concerns arise to provide solutions for our client reportsMust be highly detail-oriented and strong capability to balance multiple tasksStrong customer service skills with the ability to resolve questions, concerns and issuesMust have strong written and verbal communication skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsMust be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel with the ability to learn custom software solutionsAbility to work as a team player requiredHigh School Diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree or higher in a related field is preferredExperience and/or education in Human Resource, Criminal Justice and/or General Business Administration preferred
