Duties & Responsibilities:
The Inventory Manager is responsible for ensuring that Inertial Labs Paeonian Springs operations inventory requirements are met in a timely and accurate manner. This role involves managing inventory across various departments, ensuring that all required components—particularly those for complex, high-mix electronic assemblies—are available, verified, and ready for use. The Inventory Manager will work with the inventory team to ensure that all inventory is properly documented, handled, and stored, particularly for sensitive electronic parts, while adhering to Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) safety protocols. This position requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with multiple departments to ensure the availability of materials and components as needed. The Inventory Manager will also monitor inventory levels and identify potential shortages to proactively address and prevent supply chain disruptions.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Coordination Across Departments
• Collaborate with departments (manufacturing, engineering, procurement, quality control) to meet inventory needs.
• Verify components are available, meet specifications, and address discrepancies to prevent delays.
Inventory Management and Component Availability
• Ensure inventory items are available and ready for use, with a focus on high-mix, electronic assemblies.
• Organize and prepare components with proper documentation, handling, and packaging.
• Follow stock rotation procedures to minimize damage and misplacement.
Monitoring and Identifying Potential Shortages
• Continuously monitor inventory levels and proactively identify potential shortages.
• Work with the procurement team to communicate and mitigate risks of stockouts, ensuring timely replenishment of inventory.
ESD Safety and Handling
• Adhere to ESD protocols when handling electronic components.
• Use ESD-safe equipment (wrist straps, mats, containers) and ensure proper packaging during storage, transport, and delivery.
ERP System Updates and Inventory Validation
• Update the ERP system with accurate data (part numbers, quantities, statuses).
• Cross-reference inventory details to ensure consistency in the ERP system.
• Maintain organized records of inventory transactions, especially for high-priority components.
Availability for Departmental Use
• Ensure timely availability and organized components by order priority for various departments.
• Package components securely and protect ESD-sensitive items during transport and handling.
Inventory Control and Reporting
• Assist with periodic inventory audits to maintain accurate stock levels.
• Report discrepancies, damaged goods, or missing parts promptly.
• Monitor inventory for rotation, shelf-life, and obsolescence concerns.
Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
Education
*BS Degree preferred; HS Diploma/GED Equivalent required
Experience
• Minimum 3 years of experience in inventory management, electronic components, or related field
• Experience with ERP systems, particularly in inventory control, is preferred
Technical Skills
• Proficient in using ERP systems and inventory management software.
• Knowledge of ESD safety standards for handling electronic components.
• Ability to cross-reference part numbers, Bills of Materials, and drawings in the ERP system.
Soft Skills
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork across departments.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.
Working Conditions
• Clean, organized, and safe warehouse and office environment.
• Work Schedule will be M-F, 8 -5, with expectation to including overtime, weekend work, as required.
• Use of inventory management systems, ESD-safe equipment, and other warehouse tools is required.
Physical Demands
• Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. occasionally.
• Ability to stoop, bend, and reach overhead when handling inventory.
