Your Role
You will work on site at the customer's facilities to provide comprehensive energy management services. You will be based at CFAS in Japan. Travel will be required to support facilities at Commander Fleet Activities Okinawa and Commander Fleet Activities Yokosuka, south of Tokyo.
You will identify energy conservation opportunities and help facilitate the implementation of projects, initiatives, and programs that reduce energy consumption and demand, save money, and help the environment. You will augment existing customer capabilities, work with both the customer and Tetra Tech in a team framework, and be an on-site action agent to facilitate energy and cost savings and attain federal and Navy goals.
Primary duties will focus on energy management, including program management services, but work will also include:
The REM is required to have 5 plus years of experience in energy management or energy engineering. Strong HVAC background and experience with energy auditing, project development, life-cycle cost analysis, direct digital controls, commissioning, microgrid planning, performance contracting, and building/system optimization is desired. Previous experience working at Federal / Department of Defense facilities, particularly Navy bases, is a plus.
The position requires:
Certified Energy Manager (CEM) designation is preferred or must be able to obtain within 1 year.
U.S. citizenship is required, and you must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Work Environment:

T he work environment will consist of an office environment, as well as frequent field visits in and around various client facility sites. You must be able to exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally, up to 10 lbs. of force frequently, and a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Physical demands are in excess of those of sedentary work. Light work usually requires walking or standing to a significant degree, such as walking 3 to 6 miles in a few hours. You must be able to climb ladders, access roofs, and access narrow mechanical rooms.
The salary range for this position is $105,000 - $134,000 depending on education, experience, skills, and location. Tetra Tech offers our 401k retirement plan for this position.
