As Business Development Manager, you must possess excellent interpersonal communication skills, a strong sense of integrity and superb organizational and time management skills. You must be competent in time management, be able to organize a sales strategy and possess great presentation skills. You must also be a self-starter and problem solver who keeps the customers' best interest at heart. This position conducts sales calls on existing, and potential customers. The primary purpose of these sales calls is to create opportunities for the sales of C&B product offerings such as Networking, Security, AV, but not limited to. The ultimate goal is to create enhanced relationships with the territory such that Cook & Boardman can build profitable backlog with both hard bid and negotiated projects thus delivering the goals as established by Cook & Boardman sales management.
Essential Functions
• Develop a sales strategy with assigned customers and work in conjunction with Account Managers - delivering the Cook & Boardman story thus enjoying relationships that increase backlog growth
• Assist in follow up on pending proposals
• Maintain a presence in the field where we have work in progress. Attend project meetings thus assisting the PM's execution
• Using developed relationships, bring in opportunities to capture non-hard bid and negotiated project work
• Attend weekly sales meetings and ensure sales opportunities are compliant with company policy
• Develop in-depth knowledge of the service catalog and how it relates to customers' needs
• Document internal processes and procedures related to duties and responsibilities
• Responsible for entering time and expenses in ConnectWise as it occurs
• Understand processes in ConnectWise by completing assigned training materials and blueprints on ConnectWise University
• All other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
• 4 year degree or equivalent work experience
• 5 years of related experience
• Strong Customer Relations skills
• Strong Verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
• Must pass pre-employment background check, drug screen and motor vehicle record check
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Strong knowledge of Door Hardware, Locks and Access Control preferred
• Strong understanding of networking equipment (Router, Switching and Wireless Solutions)
• Experience with Schools and Local Governments
• Strong interpersonal skills
Physical Demands
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to move freely on job sites and able to access upper level floors under construction.
Work Environment
May be exposed to variable weather conditions. Other conditions may include proximity to forklifts or other heavy machinery and using various tools and hardware. Worker is subject to heavy lifting.
