Maybe you would like to join us! The City of Fort Collins is looking for a licensed and experienced electrician to serve on its Operation Services team. This position is ideal for a well-rounded professional electrician who carries a State of Colorado Journey Electrician's license and approximately 8 or more years of experience in the trade.
Employment with the City brings along things that are unique in the trade industries: consistency and stability of work and compensation. Work is related to the inspection, installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in conformance with safety laws and standards. Projects involve both independent work and team collaboration.
This position is required to maintain a Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) certification; employment is contingent upon the successful completion of the CJIS Security Awareness training and certifying assessment and initiation of the fingerprinting/ background check within the first thirty (30) days of employment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Performs maintenance, alteration, repair, and installation of electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures in accordance with standard practices of the electrical trade.Installs new or upgraded electrical equipment and/or systems for the purpose of construction, tenant finishing, or remodeling and completes circuits according to diagram specifications and code requirements.Responds to electrical service or trouble calls, troubleshoots various problems/issues, and provides problem resolution.Prepares working sketches and works from blueprints, schematics, and written or verbal instructions.Estimates materials, labor, and equipment costs.Maintains records and prepares daily activity reports.Assists in the maintenance and repair work in a variety of skilled trades areas.Assists the supervisor in planning work and ordering materials.Works on energized circuits ranging from low voltage DC, and 120/208, 277/480 AC while adhering to NFPA 70E.Performs, tracks and reports issues identified from performing scheduled preventative maintenance programs.Programs, trouble shoots and maintains existing lighting control systems.Maintains generators and (uninterrupted power supply) U.P.S. units in critical facilities.
