Holton KSPosition Overview:The Processing Department is the area where the fresh pork is ground, the spices are added, and then blended (processed) to specifications for sausage making. This position will focus on chopping and chilling fat that will be added into the product to meet specifications. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with safety, quality, and sanitation requirements in the department as well as operate, setup and teardown the machinery in the Trace Lean Department.Essential Duties / Responsibilities:• Utilize your organizational and communication skills through the FIFO process (first in first out).• Prepare equipment for use by utilizing detailed checklists for inspection and assembly.• Use SAP software functions for the department.• Maintain the highest standards of detail as it relates to product specifications and quality.• Ability to perform responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner.• Comply with USDA regulations, GMP, and safety rules at all times.• Ability to communicate effectively with the team and work toward a goal without direct supervision.• Set goals and objectives; both personal and as a team member to acquire "superlative" performance to support The Johnsonville Way• Learn the Trace Lean operation and complete the necessary Result Blocks for the position.• Actively participate in daily meetings and project teams• Willingness to work overtime as production demands.• Meet customers' needs and expectations.• Complete all other duties as assigned.Education:• High School Diploma or equivalent preferredExperience / Skills:• Prior processing experience required.• Strong written and verbal communication skills required.• Strong interpersonal skills• Ability to read and understand a production schedule.• Ability to work at a pace consistent with the process flow.• Proven ability to multi-task• Demonstrated communication and listening skills and ability.• Demonstrated ability to problem solve effectively and efficiently.• Ability to lead by example and involve others in the decision-making process (team player)• Ability to manage multiple tasks and be flexible by adjusting priorities.• Basic computer skills required.Physical Demands• Ability to hand grip up to 50 lbs., and push/pull up to 40 lbs. on a regular basis.• Walking and/or Standing throughout the shift.• Bending and/or Reaching throughout the shift• Ability to work safely from elevated platforms and lifts.• Ability to work in a cold environment.• Willingness to work in cold conditions.Other Requirements:• Willingness to work in the processing department as needed.Location: Holton, KSCoach for this position: Jose Sanchez, Team Lead(We don't have bosses at Johnsonville.
