Industrial Hygienist (Finance)

Job Description:

Carry out industrial hygiene monitoring to identify potential exposure in the workplace.

Conduct surveys and observe work conditions to identify processes that pose risk to employees.

Analyze and interpret sampling results to develop plans for reducing risk.

Manage planning, development, and implementation of training programs based on regulatory requirements and best practices.

Evaluate safety programs and policies to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements.

Perform evaluations of ventilation and other systems required for employee safety.

Review plans, designs, and risk analysis to identify proper hazard controls.

Provide recommendations for engineering controls to engineering and project management personnel.

Recommend measures to ensure employee protection against potential workplace exposures.

Write expert-level technical reports and maintain records of sample results.

Provide leadership and technical expertise on a variety of industrial hygiene and safety related topics such as ergonomics, hearing conservation, ventilation, lighting, ionizing radiation, indoor air pollution, and other programs, as assigned.

Create formal networking groups with industrial health engineers and other key resources in the field.

Other duties as assigned.

Domestic travel required 70% of the time and international travel required 5% of the time.

This position allows for part-time telecommuting.

Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational or Industrial Safety, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field with five (5) years of progressively responsible experience working in EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) in a foundry, heavy manufacturing environment, or heavy construction consulting environment. Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) is required.

Demonstrated knowledge of:

• OSHA and ACGIH (American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists) guidelines.
• Communicating details of safety procedures and environmental requirements.
• Providing direction to management with regard to safety and environmental situations.
• Benchmarking with top companies and identifying new innovative approaches to risk reduction

OR

Master's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational or Industrial Safety, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field with three (3) years of progressively responsible experience working in EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) in a foundry, heavy manufacturing environment, or heavy construction consulting environment. Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) is required.

Compensation:

Yearly Range $90,000-$115,000
