Housing Intake Specialist (Administrative)
As a Housing Intake Specialist, you will conduct comprehensive housing assessments to determine eligibility and prioritize households for rent assistance. You will use tools to assess participant needs, create and maintain a system to organize households based on need, and collect and verify eligibility information. You will work with individuals and families in crisis with empathy and patience, demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills and a detail-oriented work style while engaging with a diverse population.
You will apply critical thinking and multi-tasking skills, make referrals to other programs, and collaborate with agency teams to deliver comprehensive services. You will follow program guidelines, rules, and regulations, and attend necessary training to stay updated on program changes. This full-time position (40 hours per week) is Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm and will be based in Zumbrota. Starting pay rate is $20-$22/hour depending on qualifications.
Qualifications:
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Understanding of cultural competence and sensitivity when working with diverse populations, including individuals facing homelessness, economic instability, and other challenges. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow data privacy policies and procedures. Ability to pass required background study, as defined by position. High School diploma or equivalent
