The Economic Research Department of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City seeks to hire an Economist within the field of Agricultural Economics. In this role, the successful candidate supports the Bank's outreach related to agriculture as well as advising the Bank's president and senior management on agricultural market developments and policy issues. The candidate must monitor and analyze conditions in the agricultural industry and its impact on the broader economy. Qualified candidates possess strong analytical and communication skills and demonstrate the potential to collaborate with other researchers. The candidate will have strong writing skills and will be expected to contribute articles for the Bank's external publications as well as articles for peer-reviewed journals. The candidate will also be prepared to provide economic updates and topical presentations to internal and external audiences. A Ph.D. in economics or agricultural economics is required. The position will be based in either Kansas City or Omaha.
The Bank offers excellent resources and support to economists including a collaborative work environment, high-quality research assistants, a high-performance computing environment, and an in-house Federal Statistical Research Data Center (KC FSRDC).

Location: Hybrid 50%; Kansas City or Omaha
Pay Range: The starting pay range for this position is $138,200 to $213,200 for the job level(s) required for this position. Final offers are determined by factors including the candidate's qualifications, internal alignment considerations, district assignment, and geographic location.
