Electrcial Engineering Intern (Finance)



Overview

UE Manufacturing is Now Hiring Electrical Engineering Intern located at 10000 NW 2 nd , Oklahoma City, OK 73127.

Summary:

Responsible for providing support in the development, design, analysis, testing, troubleshooting, and implementation of new and/or improved designs consisting of electrical low/medium voltage power equipment, engine driven rotating machinery, AC/DC drive and control systems, and other duties within production assembly and field installation environments.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Any one position may not include all of the listed duties, nor do all of the listed examples include all tasks which may be found in positions within this classification.

  • Assists in reading, interpreting, creating, and revising electrical drawings, technical specifications, bill of materials, and computer-generated reports.
  • Assists other engineers in conferring with vendors, staff, and management regarding product specifications and manufacturing capabilities to achieve desired design.
  • Takes direction from more senior members of the department when working on tasks.
  • Understands and follows project schedules, procedures.
  • Assists other engineers in resolving issues and providing technical information.
  • Assists with researching electrical/electronic components & systems for use in production, and/or replacing obsolete parts.
  • Assists Engineers and Designer/Drafters in developing the electrical design of products using drafting tools or Computer-Assisted Design (CAD) and/or other software.
  • Assists in creating technical instructions for field modifications or testing requests.
  • Assists engineers to work with the production line assemblers and test line to assure issue free assemblies.
  • Works as a team member under direction of other Engineers, Designers, and production personnel on ad hoc projects.
  • Assists in researching, designing, installing, testing, analyzing, and maintaining electrical products, equipment, systems and processes to meet requirements by applying knowledge of engineering principles under the direction of other engineers.
  • Assists and relies on other engineers in applying electrical code requirements, manufacturability of product, and electrical design experience.

  • Must have familiarization with and working knowledge of drafting tools or CAD and applicable software.
  • Assists in reading and interpreting documents such as technical manuals, spec sheets, safety rules, operating and maintenance manuals, and procedure manuals.
  • Assists more senior engineers in applying basic electrical equations to circuit analysis, such as voltage drop calcs.
  • Must be able to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Must be able to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Must be able to become familiar and comfortable with reading, understanding, and drawing electrical schematics that meet department standards.
  • Must possess a positive and can-do attitude.

Competency:

  • Currently pursuing an ABET accredited Bachelor of Science Degree (BSEE/EET or Associate of Science Degree (ASEE) with relevant electrical experience in an engineering environment.

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to occasional climb ladders and crawl underneath trailers
  • Work in the office, shop floor, and test site settings

  • Occasionally exposed to cold, heat, noise, mechanical/electrical fume, or odor.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to work with fingers.
  • Normal vision with or without corrective lenses.
