ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
Central Human Resources provides USF strategic development of policies, procedures, and programs for the core HR functions, which includes USF Health and the campuses in Tampa, St. Petersburg, and Sarasota-Manatee. Central HR supports the goals, vision, and mission of USF, with a focus on delivering valuable, innovative, and compliant services that attract, develop, reward, and retain highly qualified individuals to create a diverse and talented workforce. Services and programs provided by Central HR include: Benefits; Classification & Compensation; Employee Relations; Labor Relations; Talent Acquisition; Strategic Planning; Staff Recognition; Compliance; HR Information Systems; and Learning and Talent Development.
Central HR is embarking on a multi-year transformation initiative to provide a Human Resources function that operates efficiently and effectively, leverages up-to-date tools, and embraces technology to create greater value-add services and programs for the USF community.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the HR Manager, Leave Administration, the Absence Coordinator works closely with a team of leave administration professionals in a fast-paced department. Serves as an integral partner to leave consultants in facilitating leave activities including FMLA, Workers Compensation and leave and attendance for the University while providing administrative support throughout the various leave administration processes. Coordinates and completes a variety of administrative tasks and maintains detailed and complex leave records in accordance with policies and procedures.Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma and 2 years of administrative experience or Bachelors degree in HR or other closely related program and 1 year of administrative experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
2-year experience as a FMLA Absence Coordinator or administrative assistant in human resources in higher education.
Ability to manage a large workload in a timely manner and prioritize and complete projects within deadline
Ability to prioritize and plan in a fast-paced, high volume setting
Strong attention to detail and prioritization of projects
Strong Microsoft Outlook skills and literacy in Excel and Word. ATS (Peoplesoft, Oracle )

Grow Here .Resolves complex issues, completes transactional processes, and provides employee support in compliance with federal, state and/or local laws regarding Family and Medical Leave, Workers Compensation, and other attendance and leave programs. Runs various queries and reports for the Leave Administration team.
Provides customer service support and meet the day-to-day Leave of Absence administrative needs of employees. Monitors the various leave email boxes and responds timely and accurately to employee requests.
Works collaboratively with the Leave Administration team, HR Business Partners (HRBP), Benefits, Payroll and/or other HR functional areas to resolve complex inquiries or issues. Must demonstrate good judgment in sensitive and confidential situations.
Maintains and utilize current knowledge of policies, guidelines and employment laws across the University, including the Tampa, St. Petersburg and Sarasota/Manatee campuses, and USF Health.
Completes bi-weekly payroll calculations and reconciles audits of attendance and leave records. Completes other transactional tasks as required for Central HR on various schedules. Assists with training and scheduling, and other related administrative support functions.
