Nemours
Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician (Finance)
Our division consists of 23 PEM trained physicians, 7 general pediatricians, and 7 PEM fellows in our fully-accredited PEM fellowship program, along with physician assistants and nurse practitioners. NCH-DE is a multi-specialty pediatric hospital and is the only ACS certified pediatric Level I trauma center in the state. We have a large catchment area, including all of DE, as well as surrounding states including PA, NJ, and MD.
Essential Functions:
The Emergency Department cares for over 60,000 patients a year in our 44-bed state of the art facility that opened in 2014 as part of a major expansion of the hospital. A portion of the department acts as a treatment area, seeing lower acuity patients and staffed by general pediatricians, PAs, and NPs. The Nemours Emergency Department is home to a 6-bed behavioral health unit that opened in 2023 and shares oversight and staffing with psychiatry to better serve our patients requiring psychiatric care.
The Division also includes a growing research emphasis. We are a member of the GLACiER node of PECARN and involved in a number of multi-center studies.
Our division has a strong educational mission and acts as a clinical home to many recognized outstanding educators. NCH-DE acts as the main hospital for residents from the Pediatric Residency Program of Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University/Nemours Children's Health, Delaware. We also serve as a pediatric clerkship site for students rotating from Sidney Kimmel Medical College (SKMC) and we serve as a teaching site for residents in Emergency Medicine and Family Medicine programs from throughout the area. Faculty appointment and advancement are available through SKMC.
Members of our division are active in research, quality improvement/continuous improvement and administration, as well as education. Our department serves as a site for multiple multi-center studies and members of the division regularly present at national conferences.
Nemours offers a competitive salary and benefits package that includes relocation; occurrence-based malpractice coverage; health, life, and dental insurance; 403B retirement plan; CME, licensure, and dues allowances; tuition reimbursement; and premium in-network health coverage for children of full-time Associates.
