Risk Manager (Finance)
Job Description Summary:
To plan, coordinate and direct the corporate risk funding and insurance program and administer the corporate bonding and insurance programs.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
• Able to perform all duties of Assistant Risk Manager
• Supervise, train, direct risk management staff
• Plan, coordinate and direct the corporate risk funding and insurance program
• Analyze and classify risks according to frequency and potential severity; measure financial impact of risk to company
• Evaluate and select techniques to minimize losses such as risk retention, risk transfer, etc.
• Administer corporate bonding and insurance programs, including evaluation and selection of brokers and carriers and negotiation of insurance coverage
• Investigate and participate in settlement of major loss claims
• Initiate review of prospective Agreements with focus on insurable risks
• Review and negotiate with owners/brokers on company's participation in OCIP programs
• Establish training classes for Subguard/Insurance and establish regular schedule for Division training
• Oversee corporate management of subcontractor insurance certificates
• Manage Division relationships with broker and establish/maintain performance standards
• Oversee contract review process and insurance pricing to Division estimating staff
• Interface with DFO to develop use of captive insurance programs
• Oversee insurance-related claims management and litigation management issues
• Complete other responsibilities as assigned
MINIMUM SKILLS OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
• B.A. or B.S. Degree and minimum 5 years business experience with minimum 5 years experience construction or insurance industry
• 5-7 years progressive risk management experience
• Proficient insurance claims management skills
• Effective leadership, interpersonal skills, management skills
• Effective written and verbal English communication and presentation skills
• Effective organizational skills
• Computer-literate; knowledge of standard company software applications, Internet
• Problem-solving ability
• Research and analytical skills
• Ability to travel
